A good use case for this feature is if you need to share security or financial information for an audit. You can specify the time frame of when sensitive data is shared with third party assessment organizations. So that access is automatically revoked when the audit is complete.

Hello Everyone.

In this video we will walk through SafeShare’s time-based access controls.

Time-based access controls allow you to specify a period of time in which the given access controls will remain active.

A good use case for this feature, is when your organization needs to share financial  or security information for an audit. You can specify the timeframe in which instant data is shared with third party assessment organizations, so that access is automatically revoked when the audit is complete.

Let’s get started.

To set a time-based access control policy from your SafeShare data room, right click the document and select ‘share’.  Next, enter the email address or contact group that you would like to share with. Set the permissions in the drop-down menu  and click ‘add’.

Next, click ‘sharing period’ to expand the options. Notice the ‘apply to users with co-owner access’ is checked. This is the default setting and means that if you assign a user or group for co-ownership permissions their access will be defined by the time period you set. If you would like co-ownership access to be persistent, you may uncheck this box.

Next, you’ll set the time period for access to remain valid. You may leave the availability date blank if you wish access to start immediately. Or you can set a future date and time for access to begin. Next, you will need to set the date and time for access to expire.

Once you have the expiration time set, click ‘share’ to apply.

That is all for this video. I hope you found this video helpful in building your regulated data workflows.

Thank you for choosing SafeShare for your security needs.

Have a great day!
