Our quick guide to Geofencing in Cocoon Data
This video will show you how to use Geofencing in Cocoon Data for controlling access to location sensitive information.
As an administrator, navigate to the admin portal, and from the left panel, select ‘Geolocation’.
Click on the ‘select country’ drop down menu. And search for the country in which this Geofence is applied. After selecting your country, enter the address of your desired location in the address form.
Then Press ‘select location’. In ‘location alias’ you can give this location a nickname.
On the map you will find a draggable polygon. Simply drag the points to where you would like them to be.
And once you are done click ‘save’ to store the Geofence location. After you have saved your Geofence you can view it in the saved Geofence tab on the Geolocation menu.
Now that we have a geofence set up – let’s apply it to a document. Navigate back to the homepage and search for the document you want to apply this Geofence to.
Click ‘share’ and in the pop up we click ‘authorized Geofences’. All Geofences you have set up will be displayed here for you to choose from.
You can select multiple Geofences if you’d like multiple Geo-locations applied to this document. For example if you have employees located at numerous locations.
This Geofence is now associated with the document. Meaning any future or current users you are sharing this document with can only access it if they are located within the Geofence.
